With Without, 2012-14

Series of drawings with charcoal and pastel on paper. Zooming into the space between two bodies, the space where they simultaneously meet and experience their separation. The work focuses on the relationship between the void and the full, the small and the big, the whole and the part.

Charcoal and pastel on paper 87,5x125 cm (43,5x49,2 in.) each.

Between two beings there exists an abyss, a rupture. However, I cannot invoke this abyss that separates us without immediately having the sense of a lie.
