The work imagines the corrosion of the built environment by flesh. My body carves into the material, creating an image of itself and its action in an act of subversion from within. Man’s fleshy substance, as part of a world that he cannot control, scares him. Nature is concealed, in a vain attempt to be kept outside when it already exists inside. It swells and overflows, devouring structures and borders. It fights back or just keeps mutating as it goes through life.
Το έργο φαντάζεται μια διαβρωση του ανθρώπινα δομημένου περιβάλλοντος απο τη σάρκα. Το σώμα μου σκαλίζει το υλικο, δημιουργώντας μια εικόνα του εαυτού του και της δράσης του, μιας διάβρωσης εκ των έσω. Η σαρκική υπόσταση του ανθρώπου, ώς μέρος ενός κόσμου τον οποίο δεν μπορεί να ελέγξει, τον τρομάζει. Η φύση κρύβεται, μπαζώνεται, σε ένα μάταιο αγώνα να κλειστεί έξω, ενω είναι ο,τι υπάρχει μέσα. Φουσκώνει, ξεχειλίζει, καταστρέφει δομές και όρια, αντεπιτίθεται ή απλά συνεχίζει να μεταμορώνεται όπως ζεί.
