Lavreotiki Art Project- group exhibition

Lavrion Technological Park, September 2023

This group project focused on an area in Attica, Greece, called Lavreotiki, with a very interesting history, where there has been a mining industry since antiquity. My work for this exhibition consisted of an installation in two parts. One scroll painting (1x10 m) of imprints of slag found in the area, remains of the mining industry of the region, together with imprints of my body, on japanese paper. The second part was an installation of wax and paint sculptural objects, made from molds of the slag and presented on the actual slag.

The ideas of traveling through the landscape, regeneration, and caring for the earth were central in the creation of these works.
